Toshiko + Mozart
I like this kitty.  It has a Bengal-charcoal fur.  very pretty.  Neither parent show caramel eyes so it must be a hidden.

Oops I forgot to talk about Toshiko.  I got her at a kitty market.  It was those purple eyes. When you buy a cat, you get to see the pedigree up through the grandparents.  So here is Toshiko.

She is a Russian-Black with plum eyes, curious, big, natural, plush, genesis, silver, guitar

And here is her baby with Mozart: 

He is Abysinnian-Creme with Tapestry Harvest eyes, with curious, big eyes, illume shade, genesis tail and ears, silver guitar whiskers

Aby creme > Russian black

Aby creme = Mozarts hidden

Tapestry Harvest > Plum eyes

Tapestry Harvest = Mozart's hidden

Illume could be either hidden which means either could have a more recessive hidden

Everything else generic

Kassia + Amadeus
I like this kitty.  It has a Bengal-charcoal fur.  very pretty.  Neither parent show caramel eyes so it must be a hidden.

caramel eyes > Mother blacklight so it has to be the father's hidden eyes

both parents have curious eyes with big pupils, natural shade, genesis tail and ears,  silver guitar-shaped whiskers so we don't know who gave which to the baby and which hidden traits she might ahve received.

So this baby was very nice.  She gave us the father's hidden fur and eyes.  I am finding out in the kittycat world the more recessive the better.  However I like this bengal furs so even though it is a somewhat dominant fur, I want to make more babies like her but maybe with purple eyes like her mother.  I really like the purple even though the yellow looks more natural.

1/21/14   Fast forward to the kittens.

Keiko + Wolfgang
1st kitten is nothing special, Mother's fur, father's eyes and ears. Everything else generic.

So if the baby has the mother's shown fur, it will have either the father's shown or hidden fur to pass on to it's baby.  For each trait you get 1 from the mother and 1 from the father and the most dominant shows.

Because the baby gets father's curious ears which is recessive to mother's genesis ears, we know he did not get the genesis ears at all but a hidden ear from his mother which is either the curious ears too or a more recessive ear.  Also since he got his father's curious ears, it also means he did not get is father's hidden ears.  You get 1 trait each from each parent. So the babies help us to find out what the hidden traits are and so the hunt begins. 

1/7/14  I still need another girl kitty.  Then I realize that the parcel on the other side of the roller rink sells kitties so I head over there.  He is having a sale so I am able to get kitties for $L88 which later I am to find is very unusual.  Most kitties sell between $300-$800.   I was just lucky with him because the sale was over a few days later.

This time I got Kassia.  She is a a Bengal-Tawny with purple eyes. She is so pretty. I didn't see anything like her at the main store.  This is the beginning of my finding out about secondary markets.

I love those blacklight purple eyes and her fur.

Now notice at this time the cats I am getting have different furs and eyes but the other traits are all the same.  This is because at this time I don't know that the other traits can be different but things will change soon.

1/7/14  Since I decided to have kittens, I go back to the kittycats shop to buy a girl cat. This one I name Miyuki Abe in keeping with my composers motif. Actually it's Keiko Abe but I make a mistake intially, maybe because I had a Japanese friend named Miyuki Abe.  Anyways Keiko Abe is a Japanese composer and a marimba player. Her compositions have become standard in Marimba.

Keiko A, like my snowflake cat, is an original which means she doesn't have parents.  I was later to learn it means she has one shown trait for each of the 9 categories and a hidden trait for some of them. Here are her traits: genesis flame III fur in natural shade, genesis water blue curious eyes with big pupils, genesis tail, genesis ears, silver guitar-shaped whiskers.

As you can see on the genesis cats, the fur and eyes can vary a little, bu they are always natural shade of fur, curious eyes with big pupils, genesis tail, genesis ears, silver guitar-shaped whiskers.  These are the most dominant traits.  All other traits are recessive to that.

The genesis cats look more like ordinary housecats.  But you see the numbers floating above her head: those are her stats. The first one 20 days is her age; followed by 92% love -- at 100% she can have a baby as long as she is happy, not sleeping and not hungry.  the next stat with the smily face is her happy stat at 95%.  You can make her happy by cuddling or petting her or by giving her milk.  The next stat is her energy stat which shows how much energy she has and if she is sleeping.  The last stat is er hungry stat.  Here it is at 1% which is great.  At 100% she is so hungry, she gets sick and rezzes a bed and a thermometer until you feed her.  I no longer have to worry about kitties running away when they get hungry but I do have to worry about her getting hungry.

I also get another male genesis cat because I was starting to read the kittycats blog and somewhere someone mentioned that if you mate two originals sometimes you get something special because you might get a very recessive trait.  I didn't realize at the time that my snowflake fur was a genesis cat and the snowflake was a nonbreedable fur.  So I got Amadeus.

So if you put Amadeus' fur with Keiko's eyes, you have an idea of what Mozart looks like under his overcoat.

1/7/14  I "unpack" my advent kitty and the phoenix kitty.  The phoenix kitty is a little different.  You don't have to feed it but it won't have babies either.  However it is very pretty.

My advent kitty is also lovely.  He is called snowflake kitty and I named him Mozart.  Here he is.

However what you see is not what you get with the special kitty.  What you see is his outside coat which is "snowflake-winter 2013" fur in a "sparkling ice" shade with "crystal sea" "mysterious" shaped eyes with "small" pupils, with a "plush" tail, "soft fold" ears, "teal-tipped" "plush"-shaped whiskers  but  underneath it he has a "genesis diamond III" fur in a "natural" shade, "genesis water" blue "curious" eyes with "big" pupils, a "genesis" tail, "genesis" ears, "silver" guitar"-shaped whiskers"

Look at Amadeus, another kitty I got.  He is genesis-diamond iii, more of a pale grey fur.  It is mighty different from this glittery prettiness.

12/31/13  Finishing up as many on the POE hunt as I could, I arrived at the Kittycats store. There were a lot of freebies there.  They had the POE gift, the free Phoenix kitty and an advent kitty.  I picked up all 3, leave them in my inventory and continue my hunt.  I notice that there is cat food for sale.  A long time ago I opened up a cat in SL but it ran away because I didn't feed it.  I didn't want that to happen again.

1/5/14  I remember I had another kitty in my inventory from over a year ago that I bought while on another hunt. Now that I know where to buy food, I decide to open it.  Opening a kittycats box is a tad different than most SL packages.  You click on it and a menu comes up, then you click unpack.  Slowly the kitten wakes up and 15 minutes later, the box disappears and a kitten appears.  I name him Wolfgang deciding to go on a musical composers motif.  

Wolfgang is a "Foxie Auburn" kitten with yellow "genesis sunshine" eyes.  Later I was to learn he had other traits: 9 in all: "curious"-shaped eyes with "big" pupils, a "natural" shade of fur, a "mysterious" tail, "curious" ears and "silver" "guitar"-shaped whiskers.

He was so tiny at first. It took him 7 days to grow to adulthood.  Here is my first baby all grown up.
